Thumb and finger sucking is prevalent in children, it can often be seen to relax and comfort babies and toddlers. In most children these habits will cease, yet for a minority the practice persists. If the behaviour continues to persist once the permanent teeth have erupted it can severely affect the growth of the jaw and can jeopardise the alignment of teeth with in the arch.

The HDL Anti Thumb Sucking Device is a removable appliance constructed on the upper arch,  in a dual laminate material and incorporating a stainless steel wire across the palate. The inclusion of this wire makes thumb sucking near impossible, helping patients to break the habit.
